FABIOLA ALANIS

Looking back on these photos, I see my own community shine through each one of them. These pictures were made to show the “mundane”, everyday aspect of our lives but more specifically my own. Throughout the photographs, I take you through daily errands with my dad and cousin, I show you buildings and streets that I see on a daily basis, and I give you a view of what I see out of my door on a snowy day.

The picture with the clown was taken at a thrift store. My idea behind it was to show how we all go through life collecting personal items, at some point, this clown sat in someone’s house and was meaningful. Though this person might not have realized it, the clown was significant at some point. All these pictures show daily aspects of my life that I often look over, much like the old owner of the clown.

Because of this project, I’ve been able to focus more on the little things I go through every day.
